IE 6 doesn't work after IE 7 BETA 2 uninstall

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to these newsgroup type sites, so I apologise in advance for my
mistakes.

I recently tried out IE 7 BETA 2 (the new, non-preview version), but after
uninstalling it yesterday, am finding that IE 6 will no longer access the
Internet. Any attempt to view a web page will result in a page cannot be
displayed message. Outlook Express will also no longer send and receive email.

But, Firefox works fine, as well as the Yahoo IM and even a basic ping from
the Win XP Home SP2 command prompt works fine, so I believe something has
gone wrong with the BETA 2 uninstall, and I have no idea how I can correct
this. I can't even get on to the Microsoft Update site to check for a needed
IE update.

Thank you to anyone who may be able to assist me.

Regards,

- Chris

Hi,
Try Internet Options> Programs> Reset Web Settings.

Then, are settings correct in Internet Options> Connections? How about LAN
Settings> Automatically detect settings?

Hope this helps,
