IE 6 crashes

When I go to some websites IE crashes and I get the
following error message:

I was having this problem too. IE would sporadically crash when I
tried to type something in the address bar. I was also having other
problems too, so I reinstalled Windows 2000. I had been running Norton
Antivirus 2003, so when I went to reinstall it, it gave me errors.
Norton suggested I completely uninstall NAV and delete all references
to it even directories and registry keys. When I tried to delete the
program files\common files\symantec shared folder, I got an error that
it could not delete scrauth.dll or scrblock.dll. This is strange,
because I have uninstalled Norton completely and it is the only
software that should be using these dlls. These dlls control access to
scripts, such as java script and vb script for NAV. I have tried
everything I can think of to uninstall these dlls, but I can't delete
them and Norton won't install correctly. It says my subscription
information is unavailable even though I am installing from a cd with
a free 1 year subscription. I am wondering if there is a virus that
has hijacked these dlls. That would explain why IE is crashing as it
uses scripting. Has anyone else noticed this problem of not being able
to delete these two files even after completely uninstalling NAV?

Silly me, I figured my problem out. The drive had some errors on it
that I had fixed with chkdsk. Well apparently the file attributes had
been deleted and Admin had only read permission. When I changed it to
full control, it let me delete them. I don't think there was any virus
involved. We'll see if reinstalling everything fixes the IE crashing
problem.
