IE 6 Crashes, No Rhyme or Reason

I use Windows ME on PC. I had no problems until the latest
version of IE was installed. Now, IE crashes for no
apparent reason. I have reinstalled IE6 but the problem
persists. I have run all of the normal diagnostics
(defrag, scan disk) to no avail. I scanned for viruses
using McAfee.com and found no virus present. Can anyone
help?

Perhaps- Control panel, add/remove programs, remove, then

select repair internet explorer.

i have the same problem with IE6. when i go to Control
panel, add/remove programs, remove (as recommended below)
it doesnt give me the option to repair, it just says it
will remove the program. how exactly do i get to
the "repair" option - thanks!
