IE 6 can't open new windows- hangs

I have win xp pro, on a P4 2 Ghz, 1 GB ram,
my IE6 can't open new windows, just hangs, for example, if a web page has
link to open a new page in new window my id just hangs.

help !

I have a similar problem. On some websites clicking on
links just don't work. These same sites work fine on
other computers. I'm using XP and Explorer 6
