IE 6 cant find adobe acrobat plug in

everytime I try to open pdf files within IE 6, I get the
message Adobe Plug in : Cant find adobe acrobat.
Microsoft update says that everything is up to date on my
computer.

Check the Properties of Adobe Reader. Launch Adobe, click on File | Preferences
| General. Verify that "Web Browser Integration" is enabled.

If that's okay, I'd suspect a corrupted plug-in for IE. If suspect,
uninstall/reinstall the Adobe Reader.
