Help,
This morning after a reboot, IE 6 and Outlook Express 6 just don't launch
anymore.

IE version 6.0.2800.1106
OE version 6.0.2800.1123

OS Win2K pro 5.00.2195 sp4

Is there anyway to "repair" the IE 6 through windows or do I need to
"uninstall" and "reinstall"?

I can't even access newsgroups with Outlook, newsgroup reader will start but
when try to click on a newsgroup, just dumps out.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I will try this on OE but what about IE by itself, I still can't get it to
launch.

I did use system information to check on files, and it showed a number of
missing files [for example rsapi32.dll; rsasig.dll; shdoc401.dll; wsock.vxd;
wsock32.dll; wsock32n.dll.]

Would this have anything to do with not being able to launch Internet
Explorer? Would the Win98Se versions of these files be usefull for Win2KPro,
or can I "extract these from the cab files on the Win2KPro installation
disk?

Thanks for the help.

Please include previous message in your replies.

It would have been helpful if you'd posted this information in your original
post. No, I don't think the information I posted earlier will help you.

Your IE and OE problems are the most likely only "messengers" bearing bad
tidings and not the problem itself. I'd suspect either hijackware or
possibly a hard-drive about to fail.

Post to the experts in this Win2K-specific newsgroup, to which I've
cross-posted this reply:
