ie 6.0 has problems opening certain sites periodically

Win 98 machine with IE 6 sp1. Some days sites such as
Expedia.com or ual.com display and function without
difficulty. Other days I get "Page can not be displayed"
or if the welcome page opens the links on the main page
give me "Page can not be displayed" During this time all
other websites load without problem.

I have deleted temp files, etc but problem still occurs.

Do you use a web acceleration program?

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.
