IE 6.0 Corruption

T

Tom

Two weeks ago, without any prior difficulties my browser
stopped loading properly.

It would take a full minute to load a page and subsequent
searches took as long.

I've noticed that other users have experience the "same"
problem, including the cpu operating at 100%, with messages
on the Task Manager ("TM") that the program was not
responding. Later, the page would finally load and the TM
would indicate that the program was "running."

I've uninstalled and reinstalled IE 6.0 to no avail.

I presented this problem to Dell Support and they could not
fix the problem. IE will run normally when I boot up in the
"safe" mode, but not in the normal mode.

It seems that something attacked the computer. My
anti-virus software did not protect against nor detect any
virus.

Does anyone know what is going on. How can we raise this to
Microsoft for action?

Thank you for your time.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

functioning very slowly...60 seconds or better to load and
the same with subsequent pages.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled ie6.0, performed a
system repair, run SpyBot and Ad-aware and finally ran
