I'll try to make this brief

I have a work laptop which is set up to log on to our network at work. I am going on a business trip today and needed to download a presentation off my home computer. I plugged my win 2000 professional into my home network. I saw that my home network workgroups was MSHOME, so I changed to that in the system window of control panel on the laptop (from my work domain). It said I needed to reboot, I did, it came up with the logon screen, I entered my standard workusername/password, and it told me to check username, domain or password then try again. I have tried entering the work network domain in front of my username, booting up in safe mode, and I'm out of ideas.

Can someone help me get back to where my computer asks for me to logon to the work network and not the limbo its currently in

Thanks,

You need to be physically connected to the domain, you need to
have administrative privileges to the workstation, and you need to
have administrative privileges to the domain.

when you removed your machine from the domain you lost the default domain
name that windows uses to keep track of your account. try logging in with
domain/username where it wants the user name... substitute the old domain
name for 'domain' and your domain username for 'username'... and oh yeah,
try the other slash, i can never remember which way it goes, domain/username
or domain\username.

you will need a domain admin to put it back on the domain properly after
you get back to the office.
