Can anyone suggest an IDE controller card they have used successfully to
run a bank of
DVD-R's for duplication. I ask because it has been suggested these cards
are mainly for use with hard drives and some will not work at all with
optical drives.

Thanks.

I use 2 types. On this machine I use a Siig card for burners and a
Promise card for harddrives. I have 3 burners (2 DVD, 1 CDR, than 1 DVD
Player attached to the Siig) & they work perfect in any burning scenario
I use.
The other computers use Promise cards with combo HD's & burners attached
& again, no probs.
I'd be careful hooking HD's to a Siig card as they change drive order &
confuse the system, this is the reason I only have CD's attached to it.
Other than that it's a great card for my purposes.

I'm not familiar with this 15-pin SATA system this card supports. Does it also
work with standard 40-pin IDE Drives like the Pioneer A04's?

Ah, I see they make the 40-pin cards as well. Can you give me the Siig card # for
what you're using with success??

Thanks
