IDE Channel problem

Magic Blue

Hi,

Can anyone help with the following problem:

I have installed:

IDE Channel 0
Master - HDD - Samsung 20 GB XXXXX
Slave - CD-ROM - Samsung SC-152B

IDE Channel 1
Master - CD-RW - Lite On - LTR-841
Slave - None

Jumper settings are all correct. Cable connection too.

But... CD-RW won't write. Errors all over the place.

Windows XP Pro (SP-1A) reports both CD-RW and HDD as Master on Channel
0 (CD-ROM/HDD hardware control panel properties page).

Ahead Nero Infotool and IDE Controller Properties page correctly
report hardware setup (Prim/Sec Master/Slave).

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it? (I've tried
different set ups, but that didn't help, I'm thinking towards a
software issue).

Thanks!

try to clean lances on the CD RW. Also if you have 80 wire cables set them
on cable selected.

Does Nero info tool tell you if the ASPI is OK?
