Hi & Thanks in advance. My situation is as follows: I
have a desktop and laptop with WinXP Pro SP2. I have a
wireless network, using a SMC Router and PCMCIA network
card in laptop and Netgear NIC card in desktop. I use
Dial-Up to access the internet (Earthlink). I tries
several times to get the ICS to work from my laptop with
no success. I read some articles from the internet on how
to set this up , but still cannot get it to work I called
SMC (router manufacturer) and tried to get help but they
said call my ISP or Microsoft. any suggesstion I can try
to get this working will help me greatly.

If more info is needed just let me know.

If you have a DSL connection to the Internet, you do not need ICS. Instead,
you configure NAT on your router - see your manual. If you mean that you
connect to the Internet through a Dial-up modem on one of your machines,
then you need ICS to share this connection. You will have to disable DHCP
on your router in order for ICS to work.

we need more details to help. What do you mean "get the ICS to work from my
laptop with no success"? any error? what are the IPs for the ICS host and
clients?
