ICS problem

First off, I'm using direcway two way satellite for my
internet, and I have the latest version running.
Operating system is Windows XP Home on host computer. XP
professional on client.

I'm trying to set up up a peer to peer network between my
desktop and laptop using wireless pc cards. Cards are
installed, and both show excellent signal ratings.

Now, when I try to go to Network Setup Wizard on my host
computer, it opens up for a second, and then shuts down
without doing anything. I can't get it to run.

Fine then, I'll just start up internet connection sharing
manually. But when I go to control panel -> network
connections, my satellite USB device is not even listed.
I have to set up ICS through this device, according to
everything I've read.

Further, I called Direcway tech support, and after being
transferred to advanced support and being on the line
with them for 2 hours, they finally told me to try using
the network setup wizard, because they didn't know why
my 'satellite USB device' wasn't showing up in network
connections.

I've reinstalled the direcway software, and reinstalled
windows (upgrade, not fresh) trying to remedy the
problem, and nothing.

Anybody got any ideas?

Does the Direcway adapter show up under Network Adapters in Device Manager?

yes it does. No exclamation or question marks. It's
working as intended.
