Hi,

I am pretty much stuck with this and it is a toughy. It is similar to some of the unresolved posts in this group, and i am hoping that some of the gurus that frequent here might shed some light. I have spent most of the day looking for answers but no luck.

This is not a critical issue but definitely an inconvenience and a risk. I first noticed it a couple of days ago, when I saw that after each reboot my network would come up without any firewall. I don't know when or how this started misbehaving. Using BootVis my PC will boot up in about 18". Then it will take another 2' during which my PC is very sluggish and without network access. At the end of this period i get network but without any firewall. I have to restart it manually which takes ~5" to complete succesfully.

System logs state: ICS hung on starting. During this period using sc, the sharedaccess service is on START_PENDING waiting for ipnat to come up. In the meanwhile ipnat is stopped with exit code 1077 (?). At the end of the 2' period sharedaccess enters stop state. During this period I can neither stop sharedaccess or start ipnat. My impression is that sharedaccess depends on ipnat.

Any clues? I would loose a lot if I repair or reformat my drive.

Thanks,
Nikos

P.S. How do you use those smilies?

P.S. This is my sc output during the problem period:
