Hi Ken,
Thanks!! That will work for now. If you do find out
why routing isn't enabled please let me know.

These are the command you are looking for.
net stop sharedaccess
net start sharedaccess
I'll have to ask if anyone known why routing doesn't get
enabled.

Yes the client did see the Net before the reboot.
There has never been a 3rd party firewall on either
machine. (I use
to use redhat linux on another machine for my firewall
before
switching to WinXP.)
I did try removing ICS, rebooting, setting ICS through
the Advanced
tab of the Adelphia network connections property and
the same result.
It works until I reboot.
I did find that after I reboot if I go to
Administrative Tools ->
Services
click on Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet
Connection
Sharing (ICS)
click stop
click start
The service starts working again and every machine can
see the Net.
The real problem is that after I reboot IP Routing
Enabled is set to
No and the client cannot see the Net.

After I restart the ICF/ICS service IP Routing Enabled
is set to Yes
and everything is great.

Is there a command line option to restart the ICF/ICS
service?
Is there a command line option to set IP Routing
Enabled to Yes?
If you know the command line option to stop and start
the ICF/ICS
service I can just put that in a start up file after I
reboot.
Thanks.

So could the client computer see the Internet before
the reboot?
Has there ever been a 3rd party firewall installed
on this machine?
Are you running SP1 on the ICS host?
You might also try setting up ICS through the
Advanced tab of the
Adelphia
network connections properties.

Again this looked good.
I rebooted.
I can now see both PC on the network and pass
files between them but
my client WinXP cannot access the web.
For some reason IP routing is not enabled after I
reboot.

Again thanks for your help.
How do I turn on IP routing after I reboot or
force it to come on
after I reboot?
Right now I have rerun the "Set up a home or small
office network"
wizard after a reboot (which always fails first
and then succeeds).
Thanks.
