How do I make one of my pictures an Icon? I have made some shortcuts for my
desktop but the picture is the "e" (explorer) and I want the picture to
reflect what it actually is.

When you first open the page with that link, it stores the icon (usually
called Favicon) in your temporary Internet files, which of course disappear
when you do a Disk cleanup.
You'll have to find it, copy & paste it elsewhere before you lose it, rename
it, then change the icon in your link properties - pointing it to the saved
icon.
