Icons on desktop

When I turn on my computer, it takes about a minute for my icons to show on
my desktop. The background and the taskbar along with the start menu do show
but the icons take some time. What can I do to make my icons appear togerther
with the background and the taskbar?

Even 3 minutes is not much to ask for.

First make sure the system is clean of malware. Here is a good link with

If the system is clean of malware, and you want to pursue this further, do
some clean boot troubleshooting to see what is causing the delay.

A third option is not to worry too much about an extra minute in boot up
time if the system is otherwise running well. Turn it on, go get your
coffee, and the system is ready to go.

You may need to reduce the number of your startup programs

These will give you an idea of what you have starting up each time you
boot....

Start > Run > msconfig > Startup (tab)
Start > Run > msconfig > Services [check "Hide all Microsoft Services"]
