Icons on Desktop and Windows to open in Full

I have two questions. I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with OS XP Home
edition.

1. The Icons on desktop will only line up vertically on left side and I
prefer for them to lineup horzintal across the top, when I try to drag them
to the top they will go back to the left side.

2. When pages open they will open in small size and I have to click on the
maximize button in upper right corner.

Hi Jim,
I'm at work right now and the rt. click option on my mouse is disabled so
for ? #1
I'm going off of memory and can't double check it for you.

1.Move your mouse to the taskbar and rt. click, under icons uncheck "auto
arange icons" you should be able to place the icons anywhere you wish now.

2.Open the page as you normally do.Now instead of maximizing it place your
mouse
on the edges until you see the double arrow of the mouse, now drag the pages
to full screen all four sides of it.Now in the upper lt. corner of the page
place your mouse on the word "file" until it gives a drop down menu selet
close. The next time you open a page it will be opened in full screen.

Hope this helps.

1. Right-click on any portion of your desktop and see if the "Arrange
Icons By..." has Auto Arrange or Align to Grid checked. If so, then
uncheck them.

2. Try moving the mouse to the lower-right corner of your browser
window. The pointer will change to an angled, double-headed arrow.
Click on the corner and drag it to the size you wish. Your browser
should remember this size the next time you open it.

No problem, I'm not as thin skinned as some others who post here, plus it's
good for the OP if they get two answers the same, one confirms the other one.
Later.

Hi Mike,
For ? #1 The info worked.

For ?#2 Info for this does not work. Pages still open in small size, except
for home page and it opens in full size.

Thanks for your help.
Jim
