Desktop Icons

Someone PLEASE HELP!!! For some reason I am unable to click-and-drag my
icons to where I want them. I can right-click, cut, and paste SOME of them
but this is very tedious and not all of them will move. I have already
unchecked the "auto arrange" from the drop menu when you right click on the
desktop. In fact, I have clicked it on then off several times. I've moved
items around by cutting and pasting but I just put a new icon on my desktop
and everything moved over to the left side and it auto-arranged all by
itself. What is going on? How can I get my desktop to let me just click and
drag the icons again? GRRRR!!! It's driving me crazy!!

THANKS!!

If Lock Web Items on Desktop is checked...
Items can be moved, but they are moved back after reboot.

If Auto Arrange is checked...
The icons are arranged in columns along the left side of your screen.

Right click Desktop | Arrange Icons By |
UNCheck: Auto Arrange
UNCheck: Lock Web Items on Desktop

Auto Arrange
[[Arrange the icons in columns along the left side of your screen.]]

Lock Web Items on Desktop
[[Specifies whether Web content windows or items that *you* have placed on
your desktop are locked in place and can’t be moved. Select the check box to
lock Web content in place. Clear the check box if you want to be able to
move Web content.]]

I have checked the web items. I want the icons themselves to stay in place
after rebooting the computer, however, they are moved each time. What am I
doing wrong? Thanks.

I actually had to wipe everything off my computer (not because of this issue)
and then put everything back on, and now it works. Thanks, though, for
responding. I will definitely keep the notes in case it does happen again.

Thank you!
