icons in windows explorer/IE

On the folders left side of the explorers where the tree
is the icons for the folders/drives/etc are not there.
How do I get them back? I'm running XP Pro with IE6

Click the View menu, then Explorer Bar, then Folders

Adaptation for the Article: Needs to be a path not a drive letter, so subst
c: [x]:\. Note backslash converts a drive letter to a path. It must point
to a valid folder as in: c: d:\Windows
