icons in notification area on taskbar

at start| properties |taskbar |customize (hide icons,etc.)
there are two categories: current items and past items
mine is all wacky
i have "always hide" set but three still show up in my task bar on my far
right screen
in past items-there are a number that i longtime ago removed the programs. i
have them all set to "always hide", except for mail notification.
how do i fix this miss with regedit?

ps Dell said to do a Repair XP. I tried and didnt make a darn difference. XP
Repair seems a little drastic. I suspect that an item in the Registry can be
edited.

Hi Wes:
I've tried both of the two suggestions, last week, and neither of them
worked. One removed the Chevron with the blue circle.
Any other fix?
