Hello Everyone,

Im on Windows XP Pro and im having a problem with my icons. I have over
200gb in apps and games. I only had 1 icon on my desktop and thats for the
game I mostly play. For the year or so ive had my computer its been fine. But
just a few days ago I notised when I start my computer the one icon is
displaying random icon pictures. I think this has to do with a problem in the
windows icon cache size, but im not sure, so im asking this here.

How do I prevent this from happining, cause its really anoying, if i upped
the windows icon cache size, would it stop the icons from displaying the
wrong icon picture?

Thanks,
Brandon.

Try deleting the iconcache.db file in C:\Documents and Settings\Account
Name\Local Settings\Application Data folder. It will be recreated.

Not necessarily. Could be corruption in there.

Hello, I just tried your recommendation for deleting the Cache file.db due to
the problem of having wrongly designated icon pictures (html icons that are
represented by general windows icon....) and when I restarted the computer
there was no recreated Cachefile?????
