icons delay with a network connection

Does this happening all day? If this is only happening at
a certain time then my guess is that you have a scheduled
service running. Anti-virus scheduled scan maybe? Check
the scheduler for apps, also take a look at taks manager
and see whats eating your resources and back track from
there.

Just a thought.
