icon txt files

I have my .txt files opened not by Notepad, but by EditPadPro. This works fine
in Vista Home Premium. In XP I was able to change the icon for .txt files as
well, but in Vista I seem to be stuck with the ugly, pale default Notepad icon.

Can the icon be replaced? And if so, can someone please tell me how?
Thanks.

Yes, assuming your Notepad replacer is EditPadLite and your program files are
in
D:, change in the register:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\txtfile\DefaultIcon

the default to:

D:\Program Files\JGsoft\EditPadLite\EditPadLite.exe,0

Restart.
