(apologies if this is my 2nd post, cannot find my 1st one!)

there's a bunch of programs that open every time i boot up that i don't need
running in the background(printer, ATI, cd copier, etc).

i've tried to delete them from the startup folder but they're not in there.

how do i (carefully) reduce this load?

TIA

Many programs are started from the registry upon bootup.
There are many programs to safely disable
or remove to keep them from starting when you first start Windows.
I've looked at several and the one I like the best is a free one
called "Starter" from "CodeStuff. Download from:
http://codestuff.netfirms.com/features.shtml

After running the program, don't delete right away. Just disable in
case it's something vital and you need to enable it

works a treat thanks!
