Icon Spacing not working

Hello,

I can't seem to get the icon spacing to work right. I've set
the Horizontal and Vertical settings to 43 but they are still
squashed Horizontally. Even if I change it to 75, the change
does not register. The font size will change the font, but it
still does not change the spacing.
Changed the scheme back to Windows Blue Default. - no help -

My Computer reads like this:

My
Com
put
er

Any quick reg files to convert this all back to defaults?
I've tried TweakUI and it has a section to "Repair" icons
on desktop, but this did not help either.

Just a guess that you are using a "align to grid" setting under the Display
"Arrange Icons by" menu item. After changing the horizontal or vertical
spacing settings, you must uncheck this item, then select Arrange icons and
the recheck the align setting. Without this the Grid maintains the original
spacing settings.
