When I launch a long-running task, I see an hourglass icon on my
desktop. Where is that icon located? That is, in which .exe or .dll
file? I've already looked in shell32.dll; it's not there.

Concerned about someone (e.g., Pres. Bush) snooping
into your E-mail? Use PGP.

The icon is in a .cur or .ani file found in the Windows\Cursors folder.

Thanks. I found them.

Now, does anyone know how to convert a .cur file into an .ico file?
Hint: Changing the extension is not a valid solution.
