I recently formated my VAIO laptop becauseo f some missing system files. My
built-in Sony Memory stick drive was showing in My Computer with an Unknown
Drive Icon. I assume that the drive works fine because I do not have any Sony
memory stick to try. Is there anyway to get back the icon for this memory
stick driver?? Any help will be greatly appreciate. Please email me any help
at sam93940_at_hotmail.com(do not spam).

Check your utility disks for drivers for this drive. My question is, why
did you reformat? You could have done a XP Repair or a system file
check to correct your problem. Next time you have missing system
files run SFC /SCANNOW this will replace missing or corrupt system
files as long as you have an XP installation disk.

When you say "utilty disk", do you mean by Windows XP CD and original
recovery CD? I successfully installed the driver for my memory stick, it is
the icon that shown inside My Computer with an unknown icon instead of those
removable device icon. Thanks for you reply.
