Icon Display in Explorer

Shiraz Abdulla

All of a sudden all by ico files do not show their respective icon in
explorer and i have one uniform icon which looks like a picture file.

Please help!

Create a system restore point. When done, Start > Run: Regedit
Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico and note the default value in the
right pane (eg. "icofile"). Navigate to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofile\DefaultIcon (modify this path if necessary)
and change the default value (right pane) to "%1" (w/o quotes).

Exit the registry editor and hit the [F5] key in order to refresh the
Windows Explorer or reboot the system.
