Icon display delay after waking from standby

After waking from standby it takes about 40-50 seconds for
the sceen icons and taskbar/start menu etc to display.

This never happens on reboot.

The desktop wallpaper displays okay but nothing else.

Any ideas ?

I'm running into this same situation with WinXP Pro with all service
packs.

Any ideas?
