ICF error -- service does not exist?

P

Pete

I had been using ICF until I was infected with a trojan.
I successfully cleaned my computer, but now I'm unable to
enable ICF. I get the following message:

"An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was
being enabled.

The specified service does not exist as an installed
service."

I'm not sure why the message references ICS when I'm
trying to enable ICF.

But I'm trying to enable Internet Connection FIREWALL,
not Internet Connection SHARING. For some reason I get
an ICS error message when trying to enable ICF.

Go to Start > Run and type: SERVICES.MSC , and hit enter.
Scroll down to "Internet Connection Firewall (ICF), right-click
on this service and select "Start". Then go back and enable your
firewall.
