I see a lot of ice cubes while browsing and figured out it
can be read by right clicking on page and changing
encoding but how do you know what encoding to use for
different sites. Is there a key to look for or just hit or
miss. Thanks.

What is an "ice cube" as you are using the phrase?

Little squares in a series, I thought this might be the
language or encoding they call ice cube?

He's looking at his monitor through the bottom of a martini glass!

maybe he means the box with a red "x" when a graphic doesn't download?

No, just saying "I see little rectangles instead of letters" would have
been a lot more descriptive. Your encoding is not set per webpage; it
is set by the language/fonts *you* use. For instance, my encoding
(English, default US) is set to Western ISO-8559-1. The problem may
also be that you have your browser set to use an unusual font that
doesn't have the particular character called for. Or the webpage is
using Japanese characters and you don't have support for viewing
Japanese installed. That sort of thing. So, is this on one particular
webpage or all of them? Check your settings for display fonts. Post
back with details if you need more help.

Thanks for the info usually I find these things when
running a search like on google rectangles - words
(english) more rectangles and if I go to page more
rectangles etc. I was just wondering if it was some secure
encoding or something I could change to view. Thanks for
your help.

No that would be little green circle with a red dot in
the center. Have a good one.

But he didn't say anything about an X of any color.

Malke came through, here is his answer...
