iCalendar

Kenny

Hello,
I was told I could send meeting requests from Outlook 2002
to a pop3 account with the ability to accept or decline
the meeting from the pop3 account by turning on the
iCalendar feature.
However, when going to Tools | Options | Calendar Options,
the "When sending meeting requests over the Internet, use
Icalendar format" is not available (greyed out). Any help
would be greatly appricated.

iCal is actually turned on by default, if I remember correctly. Install the latest service pack and you should be able to turn it on or off; there was a bug in the UI for that setting in the initial release.

I have the same problem. The "send as ICalendar Format" option is greyed
out. I am using Office XP-SP2. How can I check to make sure that it IS
enabled by default?

Thanks!

I can't think of any situation in that version where it wouldn't be available to turn on and off, unless a group policy is in place.

well definitely in one of our local outlook 2000 installs, the field is
completely missing.

I tried to set the appropriate registry value manually but that does'nt
make any difference.

That means there must be a set of install params which enables/disables
that feature. But I'm quite exhausted searching them.

Any further hint appreciated.

Sam.
