iCalendar showing up as text

I have Outlook 2000 on my computer and my wife has 2002. When my wife sends
me a appointment the email containing the iCalendar is all text.

I saw in another post that this was a problem is fixed by the Outlook 2000
post-SP3 hotfix addressed by...

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823199

The other post says to contact Microsoft Product Support Services to get the
hotfix, but of course, this is going to cost $35.

Is there a place I can get this hotfix without paying $35? I guess I don't
understand why M$ is charging for this hotfix while others are free.

Thanks...John

Your wife should send the appointment to you in Rich Text format.

Microsoft does not change for hotfixes. If you call and request the hotfix
described in an article, the fee will be waived.

Brian,

Thanks for the info. I found on my wife's computer in the options where to
turn off the "Send using iCalendar" option and everything works just fine.
