IBM PC 300GL (6285) CPU Support?

Hello,
I picked up one of these for a couple bucks.... I need to put a Slot1
processor in it.
Has PDKT31A bios. Will this run a PIII 600Mhz CPU.... (or higher?). The
readme on
the BIOS update mentions a PIII 600... but I don't wont another $30 part
sitting on my
shelf.
