IAS won't start

I've got a problem starting IAS (Win2K SP4 & AD.)

The service starts, the server is registered in AD and
appears in the correct groups, but "Remote access Logging"
and "Remote Access Policies" have red crosses through them
and I can't do anything with them. If I view
the "properties" of the sevrer I get an error "Unable to
write data" when I click OK (even if I changed nothing.)

Nothing in the event logs - any ideas?

Hi Mick --

To find out what the problem is:

1. Enable tracing, and send IASSDO to me at (e-mail address removed).
(remove nospam-)

To fix the issue:

1. Uninstall IAS

2, If necessary, set Explorer folder options so that you can see protected
operating system files. Then Delete %windir%\system32\IAS\*.*

3. Reinstall IAS

4. Check %windir%\system32\IAS\ to see if it contains both IAS.MDB and
Dnary.MDB. If they don’t exist, restore them from the I386 folder on the
Windows CD.

5. Start the IAS snap in, make sure all the UI exists.
