I was asked to look in Event log - something interesting

I saw a warning and installed SSL diagnostic as per MS.
I got this but I am afraid that it does not make a lot of sense

[ W3SVC/1 ]
ServerComment = Default Web Site
ServerAutoStart = False
#WARNING:ServerState = Server stopped
SecureBindings = :443:
#WARNING: SSL port (SecureBindings) set but certificate not installed

The warning as you can imagine is about the W3SVC. I only ventured
there as my provider asked me what I had done to cause an error. I
cleared the log and tried to reconstruct the error but did not get
there - so this is something that comes up frequently - any help
anyone, please

Not sure if I give too much (very likely) or too little of the right
kind but you asked for it !

The message from my provider mentioned that I had called the address
http://localhost/iisHelp/iis/misc/default.asp
and got an error. Frankly errors do happen and I mostly forget about
them. However they specially wrote to me and asked to help them. I was
to look up the Event Log.

I am not sure that they got some sense out of that. I sent them a jpg
of the output from the relevant part of the log. So I cleared the log
after having downloaded a recommended (in the error message)
diagnostic from Microsoft. That went in and several process bars, one
after the other started up and I see no more errors like that now.
However I had ventured into something quite new to me and find it
interesting.

I run an ADSL 1500kbs service from iinet.net.au via a DSL-504G Router
to P4, 2.4 Ghz with 1 GB of memory
2x 200GB drives, 1 CD writer, 1 DVD writer plus USB2 readers for digi
cameras.
Firewire for the Video.

Most of the machine is homebuilt and I have several times formatted
installed 2000 and restored.
System is set up as follows: Drive 0 - C drive = 7.81GB, D:= 80.84, E
:= 97.65
Drive 1 = F= 88.65, G= 97.66

The present Event log for the system runs as follows and is copy and
paste, latest at the top:

The SNMP Service has started successfully.

The Client Service for NetWare service terminated with the following
error: The parameter is incorrect.

The Microsoft Client Service for NetWare could not start because it
did not bind to any transports.

The system detected that network adapter SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet
Adapter #2 was connected to the network, and has initiated normal
operation over the network adapter.

The Event log service was started.

Microsoft (R) Windows 2000 (R) 5.0 2195 Service Pack 4 Uniprocessor
Free.

I wonder how I can clear the 2 error messages. Have they got to do
with the message that Adapter #2 is connected rather than #1

I have been on computer since I retired from being a dealer and
technician in retail Television since its start in UK. I got to
Australia in 82. My first modem was 300 bauds and expensive. Computer
was 8 bit NEC where I wrote some programs for Sea Rescue.

Some tech courses in C and C++ and selftaught dBase. Now I help some
of the locals and am occasionally seen on the Usenet.

Frankly that is my life story up to the age of 82 in computing.

Glad to hear from you, if you can be bothered to read.

I have Local Area Connections 2 Lan enabled

Is that why I get the errors in the event log every time I start up.
If so how do I change to Local Area Connection 1 ?

messages in order from earliest = top

I know you are busy but I did not get an answer to the last post where
you asked me to relpy with details and backgound.
