What is Spooler Subsystem

I have a McAfee firewall, just installed. There is an issue with
Spooler Subsystem which is the first trying to make contact with the
internet. I am not happy with that as I do not know the aims of the
program. So far I have prevented it from making contact.

Am I doing the right thing. I do not seem to have caused any bother
but just lately I have had some trouble and having to re-boot a few
times when editing and working with video programs. They are notorious
for using memory ,so to stop or not to stop the spooler subsystem. MS
help does not seem to have any information on the matter - does anyone
else, please.

The spooler subsystem controls the printers.

Thanks. what is the use of such a program accessing the internet and
bothering the firewall?

Your disk information is on Start/Settings/ControlPanel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Managemenet.
It takes a bit of time to gather the data so wait 15 seconds. Usually people will manage from there on or give good
information for experts to give proper advise.

could trigger the firewall because of dns access to locate any ip printers
defined on the system. could trigger the firewall because if file & print
is bound to an adapter that printers could be shared to others or itself.
