I want Word 2007 to save all documents as .doc

For Word 2007, they created a new extension called docx that older versions
can't recognize. I cannot insist my clients download a file to read my
documents. I want a way to set a default of save *.doc instead of save *.docx.

Is the only solution that I forever use Save As and scroll to that
extension? Or is there functionality in the newer software that I haven't
found that will properly customize to my needs?

Click on the Office button - Word options - Save. Change the default format
in there. That's it. (I just told my boss about this last week because he's
using 2007 at home and 2003 at work.)

Also don't use the new fonts as your client will not have them.
