I want to get rid of Messenger

I am sick to the back teeth of the messenger icon keep popping up everytime
I log on.

Can anybody help me to get rid.

Reece if your talking about MSN Messenger, go to Messengers too bar.
Tools>Options>General. There is boxes to check on how you want it to run.
