i want to format drive but can't get into recovery colsole

I want to format drive. or even repair windows but can't
get into recovery console. it keeps asking for a
password. as far as i know there was no administrtator
password. I have gone and put a password on my user
account ( i am the only one using this machine) but it
won't accept that password on the recovery console
either. is there a default password or how can i get
round this. |I am having problems with my windows and
was wanting to do a complete re install

You don't need to use Recovery Console to format your drive. You can do that
during the install by booting from install cdrom. Just be sure to back up
any import files including your user profile where your my docoments folder,
emails, favorites, etc. are stored. --- Steve

If you didn't put a password on the Administrator account, when you
installed Windows, just leave it blank.
