I want sound to play over many slides using timed transitions

Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 I want to do a presentation that plays a WAV
file beginning at the first slide and continuing throughout the entire
presentation uninterupted by slide transitions. I want the slide to advance
automatically on a slide by slide timed basis. I have been successful at
getting the WAV file to play across multiple slides by using the sound option
of the slide transition menu. However, only works if I advance the slides
manually by clicking on each slide when I want it to change. I want to be
able to just let the presentation run without intervention. When I try to
advance the slides on a timed basis, the WAV file goes back to the beginning
and starts playing all over again. In other words, with each slide I get the
same 3 or 4 words of the song on the WAV file repeated over and over again.
I have not been successful at getting this to work if I insert the WAV file.

The instructions at www.pptfaq.com/FAX00047.htm worked. I had failed to do 2
things: 1--I did not save the WAV file in the same folder as the
presentation 2--I applied the sound to ALL slides instead of just to the the
first. Once I corrected those errors it works beautifully. Thank you for
your help, Luc!
