i upgraded my trial offer and now i can't get my email on outlook

someone please help. i had an upgraded trial offer for microsoft outlook,
then it expired, so i installed office 2003 and now i can't receive or send
messages
 
Define "can't." What happens when you try? Do you get any error messages?
What is the exact text? When you tested account settings, what errors are
reported?
