Outlook 2007 Trial Version

All programs installed except outlook, but with a lot of difficulty. Now
getting following message:

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 CD2 set up has failed. If the problem
persists, please contat Product Support.

I have Microsoft Office Professional 2002, then upgraded word only to 2003,
then went to beta for office 2007, uninstalled that inorder to install trial
version and now cannot install outlook 2007 trial.

Is this chat room the extent of Product Support? Any suggestions?

did you uninstall all of the old office versions before installing the beta
or trial?

I did install the beta version, and when I lost data reinstalled the office
suite (2002), then thought I would upgrade to the new trial version. It
appears I need to uninstall the suite (Microsoft Office XP Professional). Is
this true? Do I need to worry about loss of data? Should I uninstall the
trial version as well and start over?

Milly - Thanks for the response, and I will go there next. With respect to
the other part of my issue, specifically trying to install outlook 2007 (it
did not install like excell, publisher, etc...) Do I need to uninstall
microsoft office xp professional and the 2007 trial version and start over.
Do I loose data?

Milly - With respect to the support - there is none available now for 2007
and if you call they are pretty rude about it. They will give 90 days of
support after you purchase, then somewhere between $59-79 per call. The
support is inadequate at best. I do appreciate your response, but as you can
see, this takes days to solve any problems/questions.

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

Outlook 2007 requires that you uninstall any previous version of Outlook prior to installation. Then, once you have done so, re-run setup and select a custom installation in Office 2007, selecting the Outlook components to install.

Uninstalling Office programs never touches user data. If you are concerned, you can backup you outlook.pst file.
