I tried but I cant work on vista....

H

humphry

I will keep it on my second partition for making screenshots and tutorials..

I cant work on that platform.. its too horrible... and its not that I cant
adapt..

I am very fast to adapt to all kinds of OS, I have tested almost every linux
there is..
Not that I like linux better than windows.. but vista...?

But vista... arrrrggghhhhhhh the design is so bad..

Who thought of this stupid unfriendly interface with hidden menus and no
buttons to push....
IE7 is a mess.... where the hell is the refresh button!???

start menus that contract upon itself??? WTF???.... forcing you to read the
titles...
What happens when you have 100 programs.. you scroll all day reading??? LOL
idiots!

The start menu is a mess, they removed the icons on the right.. now you have
to read...

Icons identify in a split second without thought... titles need reading and
slows you down

The path your mouse took with the cascading start menu was memorized by the
brain and
motion was done automatically.... following the previous neuron pathways...

As a person who has studied how the human brain interacts with images and
motion,

this is soooo wrong.... I would gladly slap the designer who thought of this
on the face!

Whats the other option? to have the classic start menu.. that is infirior to
that of XP... so you have 2 choices,
and both are worse than xp. Couldnt they buy the app "tidy start menu" and
make that into a wizard? they have
wizards for a 1000 other stupid things...

I wont comment about the SEARCH.... this is a NIGHTMARE.... not that I liked
XP, but just when I thought
it was imposible to make a search worse... vista came along! lol.... How did
then manage to make it worse...

The search in win98 was straight forward... keep it simple!!! xp had the
stupid dog I removed always of course...
Now you dont have the dog, you have the devil....

And the performance is so sluggish...

Im too fast a user for it.. I multitask so much doing 10 things at the same
time.....

Vista needs a quad core to be able to do what xp does with one.....

I could go on and on.. this OS was made by computer geeks, not REAL
designers....I would call them idiots at least.... its unfriendly to
humans...

So... unfortunately I have given up... its frustrating... Im going to change
the bootloader and make xp back to the default boot OS.......

and I am sure that I will not be alone... once the news gets out... vista
will be avoided by the professionals...
and people who know more about computers than the lot in here who defends
vista....calling it good....

I must say I'm having the same experience with Vista so far. I really want to
like it and I do in fact like what they're trying to do security-wise but the
interface is just unintuitive.

Maybe we're used to XP too much, but I don't recall hating the XP interface
this much when it first appeared.

As for speed, I got to say that in some ways it seems faster than XP but as
soon as I go back to XP I think otherwise.

I think in a year if we're still saying the same things about Vista as we
are now then I'd call it a failure. To do so now though is a little premature.
