i suddenly cannot send or receive messages I know are there

I have been able to successfully send and receive messages for years, and
suddenly yesterday I cannot. I've checked my account settings and the test
works, I've disabled all firewalls. I don't get an error message, as there
is no progress box when I press the send/receive button. If I sen/rec
through the tools menu, same thing.

Kristen - the same thing happened to me. I have a balloon at the bottom
pop-up that says "A connection to the server could not be established.

The error message I get when I click on the send/receive button is
0X800CCCF0. I have no idea what is happening and hope somebody out there can
help.

Actually, I don't get an error message at all. In fact when I select the
send'receive button, absolutely nothing happens. No progress box at all, and
when I select "show progress" on the tools menu, the box is blank.
Completely blank. When I check my pop settings and test the settings through
the wizard, my test message is sent to me, but I can only see it through my
IE.

I have since erformed a system restore, and all is well, but I still don't
know why it happened, or how to fix it if it happens again. Thanks Vicky, K
