I specified "Arial" font, on the web it is "Times Roman"

I did a web page in the "Arial" font, then published it to the web. When I
went on the internet to look at the web site it was all in "Times Roman".
Anyone know what happened?

Also, I believe the other computer has to have the font to display it from
the internet (I used 2 computer, both with Arial to view the above). Is
there a way to somehow include the font on the web or otherwise handle this
so that any computer will be able to display the font that was used in
writing the web site?

Thanks,

Huck

The long answer is----- NO! Many people that have Arial on their
computers have them set to use Times New Roman or some other font
because they can read it better, so the only way to force them to read
it the way you want them to, is to make it a photo of your pages, and
you really don't want that.

How did you specify the Arial font??

You need to specify it either in page properties or CSS.

Arial seems to be the default font when I start a web page. I didn't do
anything to get it.

I don't see any option for choosing font in the page properties. Am I
missing something?

how does someone set their computer to use a particular font, eg. Times New
Roman? This happens on my own computer when I preview it with Internet
Explorer. I can't see where to change that even for myself (obviously I
can't do it for anyone else).

You must actually select your test on your web pag4e and specify the font or use CSS to specify
fonts. The default setting in FP, is to let the browser set the font, and by default all browsers
use Times Roman, users can change this.

In IE, look under Tools | Internet Options | Fonts (bottom of dialog box)
