XP home SP 2
- when I try to access E drive USB storage device I get the following error
message -
"E drive is not accessable
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"
I tested the storage device on another PC and had no problem with it
I checked device manager, and all looked OK (as far as my limited knowlege
could tell)

So the disk is OK. The USB port on your computer may be at fault. All the
device manager listing means is that the cpu can communicate with the
controller. Alas, there are still more pieces of hardware that could be
wrong.

I will try another device in the USB port and see how I go
