I need to be able to search a .pst file for email which contains a set of
words, either in the email text or in attachments, and then I need to be able
to copy the found messages to another .pst file.
Ordinary Find in Outlook doesn't search in attachments, only message bodies.
(Good, but not sufficient.)
When I try to use Advanced Find in Outlook, if I select "Look for files" it
changes the "Where" to "Inbox", so I can't search the content of the
attachments in the .pst file.
If I go to Word, and use the File -> Search menu, I can include Outlook
folders in the search, and it will actually find Outlook attachments by
content of the attachment, and I can view the messages individually using an
Outlook message window. But I can't copy the message to another .pst file.
The help files imply that File->Search should be available in Outlook, but I
can find no way (including customization) to make it available:
So, my question: how can I search a personal folder (.pst file) for Outlook
messages that contain a word or series of words in the message body or in
attachments in a way that I can efficiently copy a result list (that may
contain hundreds of messages) into a new .pst file?
