Hey everyone, I have XP Pro OEM and need to get a new key for it, keep
getting the key has been used too many times prompt. Does anyone know the
number, and if I don't have the box with the sticker, is there a way to get
the numbers I need. Stupid alien ware disc doesn't have crap on it.

Run the activation wizard (%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A).
When it fails, call the telephone number that it lists.

Sorry, don't have a clue what you meant by your last sentence.

You get the key from the OEM - whoever that might be; not Microsoft.

Okay, but what would alienware have to do with activating *Windows*?

Nothing I would think. Just thought I would let you know what was "alien
ware". The OP should really contact Alienware. As we all know, Microsoft
will not support an OEM version of XP.

The key is supposed to be placed on the outside of the case. Follow the
onscreen prompts to get the phone number.

The Alienware WinXp Key is usually placed on the inside door that covers the
CD-ROM.

All the best,

The only entity that can provide you with a new OEM Product Key is the
computer's manufacturer. Call them.

The Product Key [COA sticker] they are required to stick on the
outside of the case. They are an OEM.

(Slaps head and mumbles "Duh-uh".) Alienware. Jobber that builds PCs
so they install the OEM version of Windows. Okay, got it now. The OP
won't ever find the product key on the CD, anyway. Guess he will have
to call Alienware since they are the OEM. The OP never did mention
actually visiting Alienware's web site to check their support pages,
